He rolled his eyes and tried to ignore the other. He didn't like depressed brats, eh, he didn't like brats in general. But he didn't like to hear someone crying or someone suffering and all that sh*t. Even if he didn't like anyone, even if he did hate everyone around here, he wasn't any sociopath, so he was still affected by those sounds.

The crying seemed to be calming down now to the occasional sniffle, the too-skinny male starting to settle. Toris hadn't meant to bother his roommate - he hated bothering people, he didn't like feeling that he was burdening anyone - so he was trying to calm himself down. A few shaky breaths later and the tears had stopped.

Nikolai sighed out of relief as he saw that the crying was stopping. Not because he was happy that the other had calmed down, he didn't care for anyone, but because his crying was bothering him a lot.
Well, sad people bothered him in general. Not because he didn't think they didn't have the right to be sad, but because it brought him bad memories of his past.

"S-sorry," Toris mumbled, getting the feeling that he might've been a bit annoying with the crying. Generally he was able to cry in silence, but today he'd just been too upset to even bother trying to keep quiet. He peeked out from underneath the blankets, eyes slightly red and puffy from his tears, tear tracks still visible on his face.

He blinked. Had the other noticed that he was annoyed by his crying? But when he saw the Lithuanian's eyes red and puffy from crying, all those annoyed feelings disappeared, and even though he would never admit it, he felt like giving him a comforting hug. But of course he would never do that. That would be completely against his morals.

Something like a hug would perhaps freak Toris out - he wasn't used to nice things like hugs. He associated touch with pain/punishment and had never really had many hugs in his lifetime. The fragile teen hastily rubbed at his face and eyes with his sleeves, trying to get rid of the traces of his crying.

He looked away from the other. "Y'know, if you need to talk to someone, I'm here..." Nikolai didn't believe his own words. Why was he even being this nice? He didn't know. Was it because he was annoyed by the other's sadness? Y-Yeah...It had to be it, right?

This drew a surprised look from Toris. He was honestly surprised that his roommate was offering such a thing to him - Nikolai didn't seem like the type, but he was being rather nice..."Th-thank you," he murmured, feeling a little shy again. He bit a little at his bottom lip, fingers playing with the sleeves of his oversized sweatshirt. "Y-you can talk to m-me too," he finally squeaked out, stuttering from his case of nerves. "I-if you need to..."

Nikolai blinked, no one had been this nice to him in his whole life, well no one but his siblings. "Thank you..." He managed to smile, even if most of the smile was fake. He didn't really believe the other would be willing to listen to his problems, in his whole life, everyone around him had lied many times, so why should he trust this guy? But, even if he didn't believe it, deep down, he hopped the lithuanian wasn't lying.

Toris offered a shy smile in return, continuing his little fidgeting habit. He got like this when he was nervous or shy. He was hoping that maybe by having someone to talk to who wasn't one of the cold, mean doctors, that maybe he would start to get better. At least, get better with being so panicky and frightened of things. He still didn't think that his eating was a problem, so he wasn't wanting to fix that.

Nikolai looked away, feeling a bit warm by the other's smile. Was this what friendship felt like...? Probably, and even if he wouldn't admit it, the other had already earned a small space on his heart, which meant, deep down he already thought about Toris as his friend.
"Alright...uh...if someone bothers you, you can always tell me and I'll talk to them." He offered.

Toris was also wondering if this was what friendship felt like. Due to how he'd been raised, friends had been something he'd never had before. He was too shy though to ask Nikolai if this meant that the two of them were friends. Toris wasn't sure if it was ok to ask someone something like that anyway. He glanced away from the other, cheeks warming just a little bit. If this was what friendship felt like, he thought it was rather nice.
"Y-you too," he stammered. "Y-you can t-talk to me."

He smiled, this time a true smile, like those he gave his sister, and sometimes to his older brother. "So...does this mean we are...friends?" He asked hesitantly, he didn't knew if this guy would consider him his friend, and if he didn't, it would take a lot of time for his heart to open again for someone.

"I th-think so," Toris replied, pondering this for a moment. "Th-though I'm not sure...I've never h-had any friends before..." He'd just been confined in his home with Him, and people at school had not bothered to ever approach him - no one had been interested in the sickly thin teen. He'd eventually just stopped going to school, as it didn't seem to matter anymore whether or not he got a good education.

"Don't worry...I actually didn't either...well, I had my siblings..." He sighed, remembering about his past, about how kids in his school were bad to him and he usually got bullied, until he finally turned into the cold person he usually is now.
