Lukas finds the spot in the fence that Tino told him about. He stares at it. He wasnt sure if he would actually be able to break through. He hadnt worked out in a while, and rust is kinda strong...
He sighs and waits for Tino to do something.

Tino grasped the bars and shook them. He'd tried this before, of course, and they were the same as before. One had the smallest amount of wiggle just at the bottom, and the other felt pretty solid in spite of the conspicuous rust. But maybe if they could break the looser one, they could use it as leverage to break the other...
He stood back, checked his balance, bounced on the balls of his feet like a ninja master, and kicked at the bar.
"Ow! Fuck!"
The sky was really pretty today. He could tell, because he was laying flat on his back on the ground, his foot stuck through the fence.

Lukas made an awkward sound, it sounded a bit like laughter, a bit like distaste. He looks down at Tino and asks "Are you okay?", because it seemed like he had to.
Looking over at the other rusted bar, Lukas paused before grabbing ahold of the bar and trying with all his might to pull it free. This doesn't work, so he looks over at Tino, as a way of saying 'I need help' before pulling on the bar again.

"Pfft. You're not even going to help me up first?" Tino waggled his foot around experimentally, and extricated it from the fence. "You're a heartless bastard, Lukas," he said, but grinned to show he didn't mean it.
He crouched next to the fence and pressed his shoulder to the weaker bar. "You ready? Count of three..."

Lukas wanted to say "Why would I help you? You got out by yourself anyway..." but bit his tounge.
Sighing, he prepared to break the bar.
"Okay, One. Two. Three. Go." Lukas pulled with as much force as he could muster.

On "three," Tino shoved his shoulder against the bar as hard as he could. That was going to bruise, ow. But it didn't seem to have any effect. He looked up to see how hard Lukas was pushing.... he wasn't. He was pullling.
"Hey. I think it would work better if we both did the same thing, you know."

Lukas paused and thought, then face palmed at his stupidity.
"Ja... that would be better."
At this rate, they're going to get caught before they get out. Lukas grabbed the bar once more.
"Again. One. Two. Three. Go." This time, he pushed as hard as he could. This was more trouble than he thought it would be.

Once again, Tino pushed against the bar with shoulder and hands, and ended up wedged partly through the fence when it suddenly gave way at the bottom, barely still suspended at the top. "Ahhhhh! ...ouch." He pulled himself out and sighed. "Well, at least that worked." Without bothering to get up, he started swinging the loosened bar, weakening the little bit of metal that still attached it until it snapped. "Yay," he said. "One more and there will be plenty of room to go through." He shoved the end of the bar through the fence next to the hole and started trying to pry the next bar out.

Lukas paused and thought for a moment before asking, "Tino. What if they notice we re gone, or that the fence is broken?"
Lukas normally wasnt so paranoid, but something about watching Tino fumble about made him a little worried.

Tino thought about that for a minute. "I dunno. You think they can arrest us for breaking out of the loonybin?" He frowned at that. It wasn't like he'd spent a lot of time incarcerated, and that was juvie, not actual jail. He still didn't want to go back.
"I don't think they'll even notice we're gone. It's not like there's enough staff to keep track of us all, and the grounds are pretty big." With that, the bar he'd been levering snapped at one end - the bottom, again, and he started working it free.
"Just think about seeing your brother. It's been a while, hasn't it?"

"Y-Yeah."
Lukas watched Tino intently. Suddenly, he felt the need to ask something.
"Um, Tino. This might be a stupid question, so don't be afraid to say so. You know that nurse, Maddie? Do you mind if I ask her to come with us?" He said, looking at the ground, remembering he had brought up the possibility of hanging out outside the hospital to her not that long ago.

Tino blinked up at Lukas. "The... nurse? Seriously?" He gnawed his lower lip. "Why? I mean, she's nice and all, but isn't she free to come and go as she pleases anyway? And won't she rat us out?"
His eyes widened as something strange occurred to him. "You don't... you don't like her, do you? I mean, like like her? Cause I thought you and that Dane..." Actually, might be better not to say that out loud.

Lukas panicked a little.
"No, no. Honestly it's not like that. I consider her like a sister. It's just that, I kinda feel bad for her, Ja? If she had fun for once, then i could feel like I helped her. Do you get where I'm coming from?"

Tino sat back on his heels, considering. "All right," he nodded. "If you trust her, I'm sure it will be fine. She does seem kind of down most of the time, even though she smiles so much." He sat for another minute. "So, um. Where is she?"

"I'm sure she's at the nurse's station. I'll go look for her, I promise I'll be quick."
Lukas nodded, turned on his heel, and sprinted back into the hospital as fast as he could. He couldn't risk leaving Tino alone for too long, in case he got caught.
