Ushered out of his room by a somewhat bossy orderly, Ludwig had taken refuge in an empty corner in the common room with his book.
He found there was little else to do here except read, which he usually done in his room. It was that or stare at the TV, but it was usually crowded and he didn't handle crowds well, even small ones. Despite the fact he had a somewhat loud and excitable roommate, he rarely made the effort to leave his dorm. It was still partially his space, and he felt safe there.
He would stay here for a while though; focus on his book, then wander back to his room when he felt enough time had past.

Lukas enters the common room, bored from his walk around the hospital. He looks around the room slightly nervously, and notices a man off by himself in the corner. He wants to say something to the man, in hopes that he'd find common ground with him, But he doesn't know what to say... the man looks pre-occupied anyway. Realizing he's blocking the path of the door, Lukas finds a seat remotely near the other man, not close but not far. He pulls out a book of mythology and reads.

He's aware of someone coming to sit by him, and Ludwig gives the other man a fleeting, blunt glance over before returning to his novel, shifting in his chair. At least he left him alone. Strangers, let alone having to socialize with them, make Ludwig feel ill at ease.

Lukas notices the man's harsh glance and gets very nervous. There go his hopes of finding someone even remotely sane, but then again, what did he expect?
He regrets taking the seat near the man, but doesn't move. What if he accidently insults him by moving away so quickly, only to take another seat farther away?
Lukas flips the page in his book, trying to seem calm. It wasn't working very well, and he starts to feel sick to his stomach.
This passes though, and once Lukas starts reading again, he calms down completely. At least nobody was giving him a hard time.
