Matthew sat silently on his bed as he kept his eyes focused on the door. He had, had a room for his own for quite awhile now and was used to having one for himself. But apparentlyet some changes had gone through and he was now getting a room mate. He had no idea who he was yet. They hadn't given him a name, or rather Matthew had started panicking and stopped listening at the mention of a roommate.
The last thing he wanted was to sleep in a bed next to a crazy person who could kill him any moment, or at least hurt him. He hugged his polar bear plush close. Maybe it'd be a nice silent guy? He really hoped so. He had hoped for a small kid, but this was the male ward, and the older guys he had seen, they weren't so nice. They always sought reason to fight.
Mathew curled even more up. He really hoped that it'd be a somewhat normal guy who'd be going home soon. He clinged onto Kumajirou.

Switching rooms was both a good and a bad thing for Johan. His previous roommate had been unbearably messy and he was glad to finally get away from him. However, his next roommate had the potential to be even worse. Maybe he would leave their room even messier than the previous one, or was unbearably loud, or worse, perhaps he would go through his things, do something with Johan’s bed. He had to fight the urge to shiver at that last thought. He would have to make sure this new guy understood boundaries and stayed well away from his part of the room.
Johan nodded at the nurse who dropped him off at his new room. Because after a year he obviously couldn’t find his way around here himself yet. Matthew Williams, they had told him. He’d seen him around. Never talked though.
He squared his shoulders before going in, making sure that this Matthew person would know who had the authority around here. It took Johan a moment before he spotted the guy, curled up on one of the beds. He stood in the doorway a moment, examining Matthew. He was rather pathetic looking. Easy to intimidate, most likely. Good. Johan decided that it could’ve been worse. At least he could scare this one into leaving him alone.
He took large steps until he reached the other bed and sat down, his eyes never leaving the other. He still hadn’t completely ruled out the possibility that his sad and pathetic demeanour was a trick into making him drop his guard. As if he would ever.

Matthew looked up at the door that opened. The first thing he noticed that this guy was tall, since he needed to look up higher to see his face. The spiky upstanding hair and the scar above his eye already said enough to Matthew. This was Johan. He always caused trouble, or well at least a lot.
The way he approached him and how he stood tall added even more fear of him for Matthew. He bite his lip as he studied the taller man. From what he knew, he was a drug and most likely an alcohol addict as well. Matthew classified him as a dangerous roommate. He kept his eyes on him as he watched him sit down.
He was afraid if he would let his guard down, he would do something. Or if he looked away before he did, he would get pissed and beat him up? He didn't know if he would actually do it, but he didn't dare to take the risk and just gazed back at him without saying anything. He just waited till the other male would do or say something. He felt like that was the best thing to do for now. Just waiting and see how scary he actually is. Maybe he was just hiding the fact that he was actually really nice and just used the whole tough guy act as mask? Oh who was he kidding, he was so dead.

Johan’s eyes didn’t stray from the boy on the bed. He locked his eyes with Matthew, almost daring him to make a move that he wouldn’t approve of. He didn’t know what Matthew was in here for. But he was here nonetheless, so it couldn’t be much good. The staff knew he didn’t like noisy or messy people, so if they wanted to keep Johan calm, he doubted they would put him with someone who would provoke him.
It didn’t take long for Johan to become irritated though. Most people would avert their gaze long before this moment, out of fear that he would hurt them if they even looked at him for too long. His eyebrow twitched lightly. Matthew didn’t look away. He kept staring. And if there was anything that Johan hated, well, he hated a lot of things actually. But people staring at him was one of the things he hated most.
“What the fuck are you looking at?” He growled in Matthew’s direction, sending him a glare.

Matthew kept looking at Johan. He wondered what the nurses had been thinking. Placing him of all people with Matthew. Anyone who bothered to take a good look at Matthew would see he was weak. They could see in a few seconds Mathew wouldn't be able to stand his ground against anyone, especially not against Johan.
Maybe he could trade roommates with someone? Not that anyone would want Johan as roommate but it was worth the try. Maybe if he begged hard enough, the nurses would get tired and give him another room. Or maybe Johan would just wander off demanding another room.
Matthew's thoughts were cut off by Johan's growl. He stirred and his face turned slightly pale and quickly looked outside his window. He didn't move an inch, except his head. He didn't say anything either. He was afraid he had pissed him off and would do so even more if he said something now.
