Toris hadn't been outside of the hospital building since he'd arrived. But the gardens seemed to be calling to him now, and really, a bit of fresh air did sound rather nice. He shuffled outside, arms wrapped around himself to stave off any bit of chill that he might experience.
There were small paths running through beds of well-kept flowers, and he chose one that looked like it might lead to a bit of solitude. He'd always liked flowers, having done a bit of gardening back home (when he was able to). It was nice that the hospital grounds had this.
He wandered just a short bit before he began to feel winded. He was so weak now from never eating. He slumped down on a bench underneath a tree to catch his breath, leaning his back against the rough bark.

Not finding much to do indoors, Tino thought it was time to explore the grounds. Specifically, the perimeter, which he'd found, unfortunately, to be adequately fenced. Not that he had any money anyway, so there wasn't much point in an unauthorized field trip.
He was on his way back when he noticed a shadow under a tree, almost too slight to be a person... no, there was definitely someone there. He considered walking the other direction, but he couldn't afford not to make a friend if he could, so he approached the the figure tentatively, smiling in what he hoped was a charming way.

Toris had his eyes closed, breathing shakily as he tried to fill his lungs with air. At first he didn't seem to notice Tino, too caught up in getting air. But then his eyes opened as he heard the sound of approaching footsteps, heart thudding just a little bit in his chest at the sound - calming quickly when he realized it wasn't Him that was coming closer. He vaguely recalled seeing Tino around in the hospital, but couldn't remember his name all that well.
"H-hello," he murmured, voice almost as whisper-thin as his body.

"Sorry?" Tino couldn't quite hear the other man. Most people started with "hello", though, so... "Hei." He walked closer, eyes adjusting to the shadows, and stared. He'd never seen anyone so frail-looking in his life. Well, that might be an exaggeration, but only a slight one. This guy was really, really thin, like a breeze could pick him up and toss him into the sky just like a dry leaf. "Wow." He could feel his eyes widen; he couldn't help it. "What happened to you?" Then he clapped his hand over his mouth. "I'm sorry, that was rude. I mean, are you ok? No, no, that's not right... um. Hi. I'm Tino."

This didn't seem to phase Toris all that much. He was used to people asking him about why he looked how he did. "I...don't really eat," he replied quietly. Of course, in his mind he pictured himself not skin and bones, unaware that he really was frail and breakable. He ran a thin hand through his hair, not really noticing when quite a few strands fell out as a result. "N-nice to meet you," he continued. "My name is Toris."

"You don't..." Tino was nodding slowly, then suddenly stopped and shook his head. "I don't get it. If you don't eat, you'll die... is your hair falling out?" He approached, then perched on the bench next to Toris, examining him curiously. "Dude. You look like hell. You could be a metal band mascot or something. Why don't..." He frowned, and pulled a piece of licorice out of his pocket, only a tiny bit of lint sticking to it. "Here." He held the candy up and poked it toward's the other's mouth. "You need this more than I do."

Toris flinched away from the other when the food was offered. "I...I'm not hungry," he muttered, getting a bit of a frightened look in his eyes. He didn't like it when someone got too close and he especially didn't like someone trying to feed him or force him to eat. "I don't need a-anything, I'm fine!" This came out a bit squeaky. "I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm fine!" he mumbled, pulling his knees up to his chest, hiding his face and shaking. So what if he was losing his hair? So what if he looked bad? He was thin and that's all that mattered. He couldn't eat, otherwise he would get fat and that would ruin everything.

Tino leaned back, holding his hands up and away from Toris. "Sorry, sorry! Didn't mean to... make you have an episode or whatever." The licorice disappeared back into his pocket. He crossed his legs, propping his chin in his hands, and leaned forward again to look seriously at Toris. "But you know... nobody is gonna want to fuck you if you don't fill out some. A guy likes a little tummy or ass to grab on to, y'know." He thought for a minute. "Never had any women complain, either."
He watched his scarecrow of a companion trembling. "Are you going to be able to make it back ok? I don't think you should be out here by yourself. You might collapse or something and who would know where you are?"

Toris visibly stiffened as the other spoke to him. Why did people have to be so hurtful? Maybe he didn't want to be with anyone - he wasn't thin enough, in his warped opinion - so why would he even bother looking? No one liked a fat person, so why would he want to put on any weight? He was completely fine how he was already! It was a good thing to be thin, it was bad to have any fat on his body. He didn't raise his head for a few minutes, trying to calm his nerves and somewhat hide from the other male.
"I'm fine," he finally mumbled. He didn't care if he collapsed. It wasn't like people here really cared about the patients.

Tino waited so long for a reply, he didn't think he would get one. He barely heard it even when Toris did speak.
He felt that maybe his company wasn't really appreciated, but he hesitated to leave such a pitiful creature... like an abandoned puppy. He'd taken one in, once, a tiny filthy scrawny thing, and she'd been unfriendly at first, but after a bath and brushing and a few meals and being fawned over, she'd warmed up and now she was Tino's best friend. A real friend, not like the people who pretended... He missed her. He hoped his mom was taking care of her, and his dad hadn't... don't think about that. Just don't.
"Hey. You wanna see a picture of my dog? I have one, it's up in my room."

Toris raised his head and looked over at the other. "Y-you have a dog?" he asked softly. He'd never been allowed to have a pet - and he did have a soft spot for fluffy critters. The thin teen wanted to have a bunch of pets when he was better and in his own home. He had never had any friends before coming here, so maybe having pets later in life would ease some of his loneliness.

Tino almost bounced to his feet. "I sure do! ... oh. At least, I think I still do." He condensed his cold fear into a little nagging ball of worry in his stomach. "Come on! I'll show you!" He reached out a hand, offering to pull Toris to his feet. "She is the cutest thing EVER, I swear. You'll love her!"

Toris shakily allowed the other to help him to his feet - although with how little he weighed this wasn't a hard task. "I like cute things," he mumbled shyly, the faintest of smiles on his lips. "I...I was never allowed to keep any pets at home." This was because He didn't want there to be any 'mess' from any sort of critter in the house, not even a goldfish was allowed.

"Really?" He didn't know what he'd do without Hana. Humans are just not capable of that kind of unconditional love. He'd tried to find it, but they all wanted something. Usually lots of things, and didn't even give much in return. Nothing that lasted. But the dog really did love him. "That's so sad." He didn't know what else to say, so he started walking back toward the hospital. He only took a few steps before he realized he would have to go a lot slower for his companion to keep up, and he suppressed an impatient huff.

"Y-yeah," Toris mumbled. "M-my father," he swallowed, always hating to have to mention Him. "He didn't want the house to get dirty or anything a-and he thought they were a waste of money." His father also thought it a waste of money to provide enough food for Toris, but that was another story. He stumbled a little as he followed the other back toward the hospital.
